Brunswick connected on a staggering 15-31 three-pointers, en route to a 77-73 non-conference road win over Hotchkiss on Saturday. The sharpshooting victory gives the Bruins a 7-11 overall record.
Will Marvin paced the Bruins with 24 points, as the guard connected on 7-14 shots from downtown and was 8-18 overall from the floor.
Three other Bruins were in double-figures, as Muna Nwana netted 15 points, including a pair of threes, while Graham Pierce sank a trio of long balls on the way to a baker’s dozen in points. Jack Molloy rounded out the double-figure scorers with 11 points.
Cam Kelly added a team-high eight rebounds and eight assists for the Bruins.
Both teams shot particularly well from downtown. Adding to the Wick's 15-31 long distance accuracy, the Bearcats netted 9-20 from behind the arc, as the two teams combined for 24-51 shooting from three-point range.
In the closely contested game, the teams were tied at the break at 33. The Bruins opened up a small lead in the second half before the Bearcats closed the deficit with about 8:00 left to play in the contest.
Brunswick countered the comeback with a rally of its own, taking the lead for good in the final minutes and holding on for the 77-73 road win.
Brunswick returns to FAA action on Valentine’s Day, hosting Masters at 5:00 p.m.
