Basketball's Second Half Comeback Falls Short

Greens Farms used a decisive 14-6 first half run to pull away from Brunswick, earning a 68-61 FAA victory in Dann Gym on Wednesday. The seven-point loss pushes Brunswick’s record to 4-10 overall and 3-6 in conference play.

In the first half, Brunswick trailed 18-16 to the Dragons (12-3, 8-2) with six minutes to play, but Greens Farms closed the half with a 14-6 run to take a 32-22 lead at the break.

The Bruins opened the second half with a strong 10-4 run, capped by a nifty drive by Charlie Sealy at 12:43 that trimmed the Dragons’ lead to 36-32.

The Bruins could not get any closer, as Greens Farms countered with a 11-5 run to take a 47-37 lead at the 10:30 mark.

The Dragons' lead hovered around 10 points until Brunswick’s Cam Kelly finished a reverse lay-up at 1:37, cutting the deficit to single digits at 66-57.

Brunswick could not get any closer down the stretch until Muna Nwana’s last-second bucket finished the scoring for both teams for the 68-61 final.

Sealy led the Bruins with 14 points, while Graham Pierce added nine points and a team-high six rebounds. Kelly, Nwana, and Shane Simmons each chipped in eight points for Brunswick.
