Graham Pierce’s last-second bucket gave Brunswick a 40-38 victory over RCDS in a key FAA contest on Monday. With the road win, the Bruins improve to 4-9 overall and 3-5 in league play.
Brunswick jumped on the Wildcats in the first half, taking a 21-14 lead at intermission.
RCDS closed the gap in the second half with a big run, eventually taking a 31-29 lead in the second stanza.
Following exciting back-and-fourth action, the teams found themselves tied at 38 with less than 10 seconds to play, setting up the decisive game-winner by Pierce.
Pierce and Cam Kelly led the Bruins with nine points apiece to lead the Bruins.
Neither team shot particularly well as the Bruins were 15-43 from the field, while the Wildcats hit on 14-48 shots.
On the glass, RCDS held a 33-22 rebounding advantage over Brunswick.
