King raced out to a 21-0 lead against Brunswick at Dann Gym and held on to a 57-46 conference win on Wednesday. Following the setback, the Bruins fall to 2-3 overall and 1-2 in FAA play.
After the 21-0 opening run by the Vikings, Brunswick countered with a 18-7 run over the final 7:30, setting the score at 28-18 at the half.
In the second half, Brunswick closed the gap with a few minutes to play. However, the Vikings countered down the stretch and expanded their lead to double figures as time expired.
Will Marvin paced the Bruins with 14 points, while Jack Malloy chipped in eight points on 3-4 shooting from the field. Cam Kelly added seven points and a team-best seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals for Brunswick.
The Bruins head to Phillips Exeter on Friday to play in a three-game tournament, opening with Deerfield at 12:45 p.m.
