Trailing 31-24 at halftime to Rye Country Day, the Bruins rallied for a 49-46 FAA win over the Wildcats on Saturday in Dann Gym. With the win, the Bruins improve to 2-1 overall and 2-0 in league play.
Opening the second half behind by seven points, the Bruins managed to outscore the Wildcats 25-15 in the final 16 minutes.
The Bruins outrebounded the Wildcats 24-18, but held a decisive 13-5 advantage on the offensive glass, including a team high four caroms by Angus Binnie. Those extra possessions helped Brunswick score a number of second-chance points.
Despite connecting on just 2-16 from behind the arc, Brunswick netted an impressive 19-36 shots (.528) from inside the three-point line.
Muna Nwana led the Bruins with 11 points on 5-9 shooting, as Will Marvin added eight points. Jack Molloy and Cam Kelly each chipped in seven points for Brunswick.
The Bruins return to action on Tuesday, December 12, with an FAA contest at Masters at 5:00 p.m.
