Squash Wins Early-Season Test Against Avon Old Farms
In a highly anticipated match of two of the top squash teams in the country, Brunswick topped Avon Old Farms on Saturday, 5-2, at the Stephens Squash Center. The Bruins move to 4-0 on the season, while Avon Old Farms (1-1) suffered its first setback on the season.
Only two matches were three-game sweeps, as Brunswick’s Max Finkelstein won his match at #2 (9,3,12) and Brian Leonard earned a quick victory at #7 (3,5,4).
Tyler Carney needed five games to win at #1, while Will Holey at #4 also battled through five games, but fell in the deciding fifth.
Tate Huffman (#5) and Nick Spizzirri (#6) needed four games to win their matches, as Patrick Feeley lost in four games at #3.
The Bruins return to action on Monday, December 12, hosting Darien H.S. at 3:00 p.m.
