Track and Field Athletes Compete at New England Meet
While not scoring well in the overall team competition, Brunswick had a good day at the New England Track and Field Championships. Missing some key athletes due to injuries, the team had several who achieved personal bests and rose to the high level of competition. London Ulysse was a medalist in the triple jump, placing 6th. Mac Brooks placed 7th in the 300-meter hurdles. Nick Tchkotoua placed 9th in the 400-meter dash. And lastly, freshman Nathan Lee placed 9th in both the 1500- and 3000-meter races, achieving a personal best and nearly a school record in the former.
However, the most satisfying moment of the day came in the last race. In the 4x400 meter relay, seniors and co-captains, Niki Sulkowski, Ryan Kulsakdinun, Mac Brooks, and Nick Tchkotoua, beat the school record and earned a medal with a 6th place finish. It was a fitting end to their long high school track careers.
