Senior Six Notches Lucky 13

The golf team concluded a 13-1 regular season Tuesday by not losing an individual match and taking the low five-score aggregate by a 194-211 margin on its Senior Day over cross-town hosts Greenwich Country Day School at the Milbrook Club.

Featuring an all-senior lineup sporting 22 seasons of varsity experience, the veteran Bruins were led by Virginia-bound tri-captain Sam O'Hara's and Fritz Smith's one-over-par 36s and Christian Close's 39.

The tight, target-oriented Milbrook routing showed its teeth on the chilly, wet afternoon as players from both squads found birdies at a premium and were penalized for wayward shots and loose swings. Matteo Santulin carded a 41, and tri-captains Harry Bonomo (42) and Henry Devaney (44) rounded out the 'Wick scorecard.

The Bruins will now focus on range sessions, putting green and short game area work, and practice rounds as they ready themselves for their postseason at next week's FAA Tournament at New Haven Country Club on Monday and the Western New England Prep Golf Invitational at Bulls Bridge Golf Club in South Kent on Wednesday.
