Brunswick Crew opened its season at the highly competitive St. Andrew's Regatta on Saturday, lining up against programs from D.C., Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
In the 1st Eights race, Brunswick was dropped off the start and was never able to get back in the race. Gonzaga won in a time of 4:24.0 while Brunswick finished in 6th place in a time of 4:31.9, less than a second back of St. Albans.
Brunswick's 2nd Eight took 5th place in 4:46.4; the winners from Gonzaga clocked in at 4:38.5.
In the 3rd Eights race, Brunswick took 2nd place in a time of 4:55.4.
The 4th Eights race, unfortunately, had to be canceled due to thunderstorms.
The boys loaded the trailer in the pouring rain, showing good spirit and sportsmanship throughout the tough day.
Brunswick will travel to Salisbury School on Wednesday, April 19, to compete for the Richard Curtis Trophy.
