'Wick Names Bullpen in Tim Daly's Honor

Brunswick defeated a strong Kennedy Catholic (Somers, N.Y.) team by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday at Edwards Campus. Prior to the start of the game, players, coaches, and members of the Brunswick community gathered to dedicate a new bullpen in remembrance of Timothy Daly — colleague, friend, and devoted baseball coach — who died in December.

A plaque at the bullpen now permanently honors Mr. Daly for his commitment, love, and loyalty to Brunswick School and its boys.

Fittingly, the Bruins had four pitchers combine to throw a shutout (Jackson Shepelsky, Reed Hyde, Sam Sealy, and Michael Yeager) and totaled nine strikeouts among them.

Kennedy Catholic’s pitcher sent nine Bruins down on strikes.

Hyde recorded the victory for Brunswick. He allowed one hit and zero runs over one and one-third innings, striking out two and walking one. Yeager and Sealy entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief. Yeager recorded the last three outs to earn the save.

There was not a lot of offense in this one, but Shepelsky, Riley Redahan, and Connor Jones each managed one hit to lead the team.

Next up for the Bruins is Hopkins School on Wednesday and Harvey School on Thursday.
