Varsity Tennis Drops Season Opener

Varsity tennis lost a tough season-opening match to Roxbury Latin on Friday afternoon at Edwards Campus. 

Roxbury Latin has always fielded a strong team and has consistently been either the winners or runners-up of New England's Class B draw.

After losing the doubles point, Brunswick lost the first sets in all but one of the singles matches and it was too difficult to dig out of that hole. Although the Bruins extended to third-set tiebreakers in a couple of matches, they could not complete the comeback.

1. Monahan lost 1-6, 2-6
2. Zimmerman won 6-1, 6-3

4. Maclean lost 3-6, 1-6
5. Riehl lost 6-7 (3), 6-4, 12-14
6. Segura lost 5-7, 0-6

The Bruins will face Andover on Saturday afternoon at the RCDS indoor courts.
