Brunswick (18-9-1) extended its winning streak to seven games with a convincing 5-1 victory against Berkshire this afternoon at Hartong Rink.
The Bruins tinkered the forward lines a bit in search of a more balanced attack and ultimately got goals from all four units -- the scorers up front being seniors Eli Friedman and James Shannon, junior Jake Minella, and sophomore Tucker Spiess.
Senior defenseman Sloan Farmer also found the net after (somehow) finding himself on top of the blue paint on an offensive-zone possession and finishing off a rebound to give the Bruins a 3-1 lead after two. The goal was an important one, coming with just three seconds before the horn blew for intermission.
The Bears had a very dangerous first line and made a push in the middle period before the Bruins pulled away with two more in the third.
Senior Brendan Holahan had a stellar performance in the cage for 'Wick, making 26 saves in all. The Bruins put up 47 shots of their own.
A solid weekend sweep of Gunn and Berkshire.
Thanks to the loyalists for their attendance at Hartong -- a nice Saturday crowd.
