The varsity basketball team picked up a win on the road Friday night at King by a score of 67-56.
Brunswick controlled the pace early, getting easy looks at the rim within their half-court offense and pushing the ball in transition. The Bruins jumped out to a 22-10 lead before the Vikings fought back, hitting seven deep first half three pointers to take a 30-28 lead into the break.
Determined to regain their form and the lead they let slip, Brunswick started the second half with an energy and intensity that King could not match. The Bruins scored 13 straight points highlighted by a Wyatt Triestman alley-oop dunk assisted by Malik Samms and a Jon Sigurdsson blocked shot that sent the ball flying out of play. Brunswick never looked back, slowly rotating their lineup for the last several minutes of the game until the entire bench had cleared.
Triestman scored 15 points on the night, Ethan Long had 12, and Samms chipped in 11.
