Brunswick beat Masters by a score of 58-47 on Saturday afternoon in Dobbs Ferry.
The Bruins looked poised to blow the game open early after gaining a quick double-digit advantage, but the Dragons proved to be a resilient bunch, countering every Brunswick basket or forced turnover with one of their own.
The Bruins led 31-26 at half, confident they would gain control after the break, but it was one of those days for Brunswick where the shots just wouldn’t drop, and they found themselves down by four with just four minutes remaining in regulation.
With their backs against the wall, Brunswick responded, scoring the game’s final 15 points. The late run was highlighted by an Ethan Long two-handed slam and a Jack Stevens three pointer, one of his four on the day.
Stevens led the way offensively with 16. Long had 12 and Jon Sigurdsson added 11.
Brunswick is back home on Tuesday against Greens Farms.
