'Wick Tops Hamden Hall in FAA Showdown

Brunswick beat Hamden Hall, 71-54, in an FAA showdown on Thursday afternoon in Dann Gym.

In their second night of back-to-back action, the Bruins looked sluggish to start, struggling to get back on defense and providing the Hornets with easy looks. Despite leading by as much as 10 in the first half, Brunswick was unable to build a consistent, comfortable lead and took a 33-27 lead into the break.

The Bruins returned from halftime with a renewed sense of urgency. Brunswick was sparked by two Ethan Long fast-break dunks off of steals on the other end. Jack Stevens nailed two three pointers and Malik Samms finished a pair of three-point plays to put the game out of reach. Leading by 20 with four minutes remaining, the Bruins emptied the bench and got some much needed rest for their starters.

Long led the way offensively with 19 points. Samms had 15 and Wyatt Triestman 12.

Brunswick travels to Masters on Saturday.
