Bruins Blank Masters

Brunswick defeated Masters, 14-0, as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout on Thursday afternoon.

In the first inning, Brunswick got its offense started when Adonys Guzman doubled on a 2-1 count, driving in one run.

The Bruins secured the victory thanks to eight runs in the fourth inning. ’Wick batters who contributed to the big inning included Nick Bianco, Michael Yeager, Cole Mascolo, and A. Guzman.

The Brunswick offense racked up a total of seven hits on the day. Yeager led the offense with three hits while A. Guzman was responsible for two. The Bruins also tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Yeager led the way with five steals.

Yeager toed the rubber for the Bruins. The righthander went three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit, striking out four, and walking zero. Yeager has been lights out over his last three starts, allowing just three hits in his last 16 innings. 

The Bruins move to 11-2 overall (5-1 FAA) — and will be back in action with a league game at Hamden Hall on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.
