Flannery Dominates in Saturday Shutout

Boston Flannery received the call to pitch and didn't allow a single run, as the Bruins defeated Poly Prep Country Day, 1-0, in game one on Saturday morning.

Flannery threw a complete game for ’Wick. The gunslinger allowed zero runs, while allowing only four hits and striking out nine.

Brunswick took the lead in the top of the seventh inning. Michael Yeager led off the inning with a line drive to center field. Wim Nook pinch hit in his first varsity at bat and laid down a beautiful sacrifice bunt, moving Yeager into scoring position with one out. Adonys Guzman came up to the plate and hit a line drive to center field. Guzman’s hit allowed Yeager to score from second base and gave the Bruins the 1-0 lead.

The Bruins’ offense tallied seven hits.  Flannery and Nicholas Bianco all managed multiple hits and Guzman had the only RBI to lead the Bruins.

Brunswick continued its stellar defense and didn't commit a single error in the field.
