The varsity tennis team hosted a tough Hoosac team on Wednesday afternoon and emerged victorious with a 5-2 win.
After winning the doubles point convincingly, the first five singles matches took the court. With Evan Lee opting to rest in the singles, Will Monahan would play at #1. He would be the first one to finish, followed by 'Wick's #2 and #3 to seal the victory. With the match already won, Edward Nagler opted to retire after winning the first set tiebreak.
Santos Gunningham had split sets in the #4 singles match and lost a close super-tiebreaker.
At #6, rookie Tucker Maclean, who was initially on standby, was called up when Lee asked to rest. He battled out the first set to win 7-5, and then rode that momentum in the second set to win 6-0.
