Swimmers Take Fifth at Easterns

Easterns 2022 was one of the best swimming meets in Brunswick history, as the team earned a fifth-place finish at the event this past weekend.

This year, after a one-year hiatus due to Covid-19, the meet formally known as Prep School Nationals was a return to normalcy, competitiveness, and great ’Wick swimming.

The team won four events, broke five New England records and one Franklin & Marshall pool record, and also set one Eastern Championship record. The Bruins had finalists in every swimming event, also having six automatic All-American swims and one All-American Consideration swim.

On top of that, every swim seemed like a best time, and the boys were unbelievably supportive of one another throughout the day — cheering for every swim and celebrating every swim; no matter the first or the last heat was a theme of the weekend.

’Wick placed fifth overall out of over 40 schools that came to Lancaster, Pa., from the Bahamas to California.

Lucas Hodgson was a double-event winner and voted the Male Swimmer of the Meet by the Easterns coaches in attendance.
