Brunswick Finishes Second at WNEISWA Tournament

Brunswick wrestlers relied on depth and consistency through the lineup to earn silver at the WNEISWA championships on Saturday. Brunswick placed top six in 12 of 14 weight classes. Brunswick finished with 235 points behind a strong host Greens Farms Academy, which won the tourney with 323 points.

Quinn McGraw (108), Enzo Vera (132), and Captain Kyle Karas (138) all won WNEISWA championship titles. Captain Cliff Belknap (285), Kaden Saad (152), and Patrick O’Donahue (113) made it to the finals but took second place.

Kyle Pagnani (145) and Tomas Delgado (195) won their final matches to earn third place medals. Captain Will Donovan (170) and Michael Neviera lost to tough opponents in the consolation finals to finish fourth. Will MacGillivray won his final match to take fifth place at 160, while Ethan Phelps lost in his final match to take sixth place at 126.

Next action for the Bruins is the NEISWA Tournament (New England) at Deerfield Academy on February 19. The top six finishers in this regional tournament are eligible to compete in the National Prep Tournament, scheduled for February 26 in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
