'Wick Earns Big FAA Win, Sit Atop Standings

Brunswick came away with a convincing 59-33 win over Hamden Hall on Friday night in front of an electric crowd at Dann Gym.

The Bruins now sit atop the FAA rankings heading into the last week of the season.

The teams went back and forth to start the game, tied at 15 a piece with 7 minutes to play in the first half, until back to back three pointers by Tristan Joseph and Malik Samms sparked 12-3 run, giving the Bruins a 27-18 lead at the break.

The rest of the way it was all Brunswick, smothering the Hornets with defensive pressure, forcing turnovers, and scoring in transition. Jon Sigurdsson scored 12 of his 15 points in the second half, including a put back dunk off of a missed layup that sent the crowd into a frenzy. Sigurdsson also pulled down a game high nine rebounds.

Joseph scored 15, highlighted by two fast-break dunks, while Samms added 13 points and 7 assists.

Brunswick is back in action at St. Luke’s on Monday afternoon, its first of three contests of the final week of the regular season.
