After an opening period in which Salisbury put Brunswick on its heels and played a deep forchecking game, the Bruins settled in, made their presence known, and carried the action for certain stretches from then on -- ultimately coming up short, though, by a score of 4-1 at Hartong Rink on Monday evening.
Salisbury took a 2-0 lead into the final period, but the home team didn't quit and put sustained pressure on their opponents, finally breaking through with 11:32 remaining on a snipe by sophomore Drew DellaSalla. Assists went to Hank Cleaves and Maxime Sauve.
The Crimson Knights took a bit of the wind out of 'Wick's sails five minutes after that on a rebound and added an ENG to seal the victory.
Junior Brendan Holahan was outstanding yet again in between the pipes and gave the Bruins a chance to win.
