Brunswick dropped a NEPSAC Class A contest to Suffield Academy 64-43 in Dann Gym on Wednesday afternoon.
The short-handed Bruins gave Luke Michalik his first career start in the place of injured senior captain Tristan Joseph. Michalik pulled down a game high 10 rebounds.
Brunswick started fast, building a 14-9 lead on the back of Jon Sigurdsson and Matty Augustine buckets down low, in addition to a Malik Samms three pointer.
After trailing 35-20 at the break, the Bruins kept the game within striking distance for much of the second half, but ultimately couldn’t find the offense to close the gap.
Augustine led the team with 14 points while Samms added 12 and Sigurdsson 10.
It will be a quick turnaround for Brunswick as the team travels to FAA foe Hamden Hall on Thursday.
