Brunswick Wrestling Defeats Salisbury

The Bruin wrestlers duplicated their previous day’s success with a dominant win over a depleted Salisbury team. In a match that included five forfeit wins for Brunswick, Bruin grapplers earned pins in eight of the nine remaining bouts.

Quinn McGraw (108), Patrick O’Donahue (115), Charlie McGraw (128), Enzo Vera (134), and Captain Kyle Karas (140) all took forfeits. Carter Bagaria (122) pinned his opponent at 1:30 in the first period. Kyle Pagnani (147), Whip Gorman (154), Will MacGillivray (162), Captain Will Donovan (172), and Wyle Ocken (184) all recorded wins by pin as well. Tomas Delgado (197) suffered the lone Brunswick loss as he was pinned by a seasoned Salisbury opponent in the second period. Michael Neviera (222) and Captain Cliff Belknap (287) closed out the win by pinning their opponents.

Of additional note, Brunswick JV wrestlers were equally successful against their Salisbury opponents.

Sophomore Reed Eddy earned a hat trick, recording three first-period pins against different Salisbury opponents in the 222 lbs. weight class. Ethan Phelps, Henry Sorbraro, Will O’Reilly, and Ilan Amaro all notched wins by pin, while Adriel Resendiz and Julio Urbina lost by pin. The younger bruins gained valuable experience in these matches.

The next event for Brunswick wrestling will be the Brunswick Invitational Tournament on Saturday, January 22, at Burke Field House. The team looks forward to a great event, featuring teams from Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New York, and Pennsylvania.
