Bruins Earn Victory on the Pitch

Brunswick returned to the 500-mark on the season after topping the Frederick Gunn School on Saturday by a score of 2-1.

Despite a number of early scoring opportunities from Nico Montoni, Malik Samms, and Gavin Foster, the first half ended with a 0-0 scoreline.

The Bruins got on the board quickly in the second frame: Frankie Grether earned his second goal of the season, finishing a corner kick from Douglas Otton in the 50th minute. Keeping the pressure on the Frederick Gunn defense, Montoni drew a foul in the 62nd minute when cutting through the attacking 18-yard-box en route to making the score 2-0, converting from the penalty stripe.

The home team made it a match with a goal in the 69th minute, as a winger from the left side made his way through our defense and laid off a ball to be finished by a striker over the shoulder of 'Wick GK James Walker.
The Brunswick defense held strong in the last 15 minutes to ensure the 2-1 victory.

Walker had another good showing in net, making seven saves on the day. In addition to the players mentioned above, striker Will Donovan and center-back John Dunn had solid performances in the effort.

The Bruins return to action next weekend for their first Saturday home match of the year against Kent, which will also be the "Coaches vs. Cancer" match.
