Brunswick hosted longtime FCIAC power New Canaan High School on Thursday afternoon, besting the Rams by a score of 14-8 on Senior Day at Cosby Field.
The game was tightly contested until early in the third quarter, when ’Wick went on a five-goal run (with tallies from five different midfielders — Lucas and Tomas Delgado, Leo Hoffman, Chris Gaine, and Andrew Greenspan) to take a decisive 12-5 lead heading into the final 12 minutes of play.
The Bruins bookended a three-goal fourth quarter for the Rams to complete the day’s scoring.
Senior Jackson Alvord earned the coaching staff's praise with five GBs and a handful of forced turnovers.
The Bruins (12-2) head back on the road on Saturday, when they will meet highly touted Malvern Prep in Pennsylvania at 2 p.m.
