Brunswick travelled across the state to Norwich, Conn., to face the St. Thomas More Chancellors in a pair of games in Dodd Stadium, splitting the double header with a 2-1 victory and a 4-3 loss.
The first game featured Michael Yeager on the mound. Yeager hurled five scoreless innings, surrendering three hits and two walks with six strikeouts. Sam Sealy tossed the last two innings and gave up one unearned run on three hits, and struck out two.
Brunswick's offense was good for four hits. Player Crosby, Adonys Guzman, and Miles Walker each added singles, while Riley Redahan contributed a triple.
After a short break, Brunswick was ready for game two. Nick Bianco got the nod to start on the hill for the Bruins, but was unable to record an out before being pulled. Bianco walked a pair and gave up a two-run double before Riley Redahan came on in relief. Redahan lasted five innings of one-run baseball and surrendered four hits and a pair of walks while striking out one Chancellor batter. Jurgis Schmedlen pitched the 7th inning and struck out one, walked one, and gave up an unearned run.
Although Brunswick had a total of eight hits, they were held to just three runs. Cole Mascolo earned a pair of hits, including a double. Crosby, Aidan Redahan, Guzman, Yeager, Sealy, and Riley Redahan all added singles.
The Bruins (6-6, 4-0) will be in action Monday when they travel to New Canaan to take on the St. Luke's Storm. First pitch is set for 4:30 p.m.
