Lacrosse Rallies to Defeat Darien High School in OT
Brunswick (8-1) overcame two four-goal deficits and rallied to defeat Darien High School by a score of 9-8 in overtime on Saturday afternoon.
After the Blue Wave raced out to a 4-0 lead in the first quarter, the Bruins scored the game’s next three goals to cut the lead to one at the end of the frame. Darien netted the only goal of the second quarter to lead 5-3 at the half.
The hosts increased their advantage to 7-3 before ’Wick went on a four-goal run to tie the game on tallies from Myles Spiess, Blake Burchill, Coulter Mackesy, and Leo Hoffman.
The teams traded goals and headed into overtime, when Mackesy swept top-side and found the net to give his team the victory.
Brunswick outshot Darien 52-21 on the afternoon.
The Bruins will host Ridgefield High School on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. on Cosby Field.
