Brunswick hosted its inaugural Track and Field meet at the brand-new King Street Track on Saturday, April 24, with teams from Greenwich Academy, Sacred Heart, RCDS, and King all participating. The Bruins earned victories against both RCDS and King on the boys’ side of the competition.
Brunswick scored first place in numerous running events, including the 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, and 3000m races, as well as the 100m and 300m hurdles. Brunswick also dominated the field events, scoring first in Shot Put, Javelin, Discus, and High Jump, and second in the Long and Triple Jumps.
Lucas Pombo was especially impressive, winning the 800, 1500, and 3000 meter races, and Jalen Johnson tied a school record with a high jump of 5’ 10”.
