Brunswick and Wilton High School battled the elements and each other on Thursday afternoon, with the Bruins emerging victorious by a score of 15-7 in a game played on Edwards Campus.
After the Warriors tied it at four early in the second quarter, ’Wick went on a decisive seven-goal run to take control of the contest — as seniors Luke Waters and Blake Borges each netted two goals in the scoring spree, while classmate Tommy Quinson found twine for his first of the season. The Bruins led 11-5 at halftime.
Both teams played solid defense in a more quietly played second half — with Will Donovan, Colin Mulshine, and Hunter Spiess standing out for the hosts — and the game ended with a final score of 15-7.
Brunswick, now 6-0 on the season, will have some time off in advance of its nationally televised (ESPNU) matchup against Haverford in Pennsylvania on Friday, April 23, at 2:30 p.m.
