'Wick Lax Takes Down Trinity-Pawling

In its first game at home in front of spectators since 2019, Brunswick topped NEPSAC foe Trinity-Pawling, 13-5, to move to 3-0 on the season.

The Bruins’ defensive unit of Mario Rinaldi, Colin Mulshine, Noah Levi, and Charlie Johnson — and the faceoff tandem of Blake Burchill and Andrew Greenspan — played a strong game against the physical Pride team, keeping their opponent to a season-low five goals. Goaltender Luke Schlank made 12 saves (71%) in the cage in a solid performance.

After a back-and-forth first quarter ended with the hosts up 3-2, the Bruins started to pull away in the second and headed into halftime with an 8-3 advantage. Blake Borges highlighted the half by netting the first goal of his career.

Strong riding and forced turnovers kept the Bruins in front in the second half — and the Bruins’ defense shut the door in the final quarter to seal the victory.

The two teams will meet again on Saturday in Pawling, N.Y., at 3 p.m.
