Basketball’s Late Rally Comes Up Short

Trailing by as much as 15 points in the second half to Greens Farms on Wednesday, a potential game-tying three-pointer by Brunswick was just off the mark at the buzzer, as the Bruins fell to the Dragons, 74-71. Following the FAA setback, Brunswick (7-10, 3-5) returns to conference action with a home game against King on Friday, February 7.

Trailing 40-30 at the break, Brunswick saw the deficit climb to 15 points before the visitors mounted a spirited comeback. Forcing turnovers down the stretch and sinking some key baskets, the Bruins trailed by three points in the final seconds. Brunswick did get a clean look on a three-pointer as time expired, but it was off line, allowing Greens Farms to hold on for the win, 74-71.

Tristan Joseph poured in a career-best 27 points to lead the Bruins. Dan Arnold and Logan Galletta each netted 14 points, while James Sealy chipped six points on a pair of second-half threes.
