Hockey Picks Up Shutout Win

Brunswick netted three power-play goals in a 4-0 shutout win over Williston Northampton on Saturday in Hartong Rink. The shutout is the fourth on the season for the 16-4-2 Bruins, ranked 10th in the latest USHR.com weekly poll.
 
Matthew McGroarty opened the scoring for Brunswick with a power-play goal in the first period and capped the scoring with an extra-man marker in the third.
 
Holding a 1-0 lead after the McGroarty tally 3:19 into the contest, Andon Cerbone added an even-strength goal just over two minutes later for a 2-0 advantage. Cerbone added a pair of assists on the day, boosting his team lead in points to 35 (7 goals, 28 assists).
 
In the second period, Beanie Richter notched a power-play tally to give the hosts a 3-0 cushion.
 
McGroarty’s second tally, the 12th on the season for the forward, wrapped up the scoring in the final frame, as the Bruins skated away with the 4-0 win.
 
Brunswick goalie Alexander Rohlf turned away all 20 shots for the shutout win, Rohlf’s third shutout on the season.
