Brunswick picked up a victory over Millbrook on Monday night in Hartong Rink, besting the Mustangs 3-1. The win improves the Bruins’ overall mark to 12-4-2, while Millbrook falls to 12-7-0.
Brunswick, ranked eighth in the latest USHR.com weekly poll, opened the scoring in the first period on Jakub Teply’s goal. Andon Cerbone set up the Teply marker, as Cerbone leads the Bruins with 20 assists, while Teply tops the Bruins in goals with 13.
Cerbone netted the second goal of the contest, giving the hosts a 2-0 lead near the midway point of the second period.
In the third period, Millbrook trimmed the deficit to 2-1 on a power-play goal with 11:15 remaining in the game.
The Bruins responded with an insurance goal with just over four minutes left to play, as Michael Salandra netted his seventh goal of the season, giving the Bruins a 3-1 advantage.
Brunswick returns to action on Wednesday, with a rescheduled home contest against Hoosac at 4:30 p.m.
