Five Swimmers Named All-American

Five Brunswick swimmers were recognized by the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA) as All-Americans. Recent graduates Christian Farricker, Keegan Drew and Cole Pierce join rising senior Marcus Hodgson and rising sophomore Alex Hazlett on the list of national award winners. The quintet earned national accolades in seven events.

According to the NISCA, the top 100 submitted and accepted times by the NISCA are recognized as All-America in both individual and relay events.

Farricker picked up four national awards this past season and holds eight All-American accolades over his swimming career at Brunswick. Individually, the future University of Michigan swimmer was 57^th nationally in the 100-butterfly and was 100^th in the country in the 100-freestyle. The Cos Cob resident was also part of the 200-freestyle relay (28^th) and 400-freestyle relay (7^th) teams.

Drew, from Harrison, N.Y., earned three All-American selections as part of the 200-medley relay (38^th), 200-freestyle relay and 400-freestyle relay teams. Overall, Drew owns six All-American results and will swim for Columbia University next season.

Pierce, a Greenwich resident, added All-American nods as a member of the 200-medley relay and 400-freestyle relay teams. Over his swimming career, Pierce, who will attend Stanford University this fall, collected five All-American awards.

After collecting five All-American awards this past season, Hodgson doubled his career total to 10 All-American selections. Beyond being a part of three All-American relay teams this past season (200-medley, 200-freestyle and 400-freestyle), the Riverside resident picked up individual All-American nods in the 100-butterfly (73^rd) and 100-freestyle (76^th).

Hazlett, hailing from Greenwich, picked up his first two All-American awards as a part of the 200-medley relay and 200-freestyle relay teams.
