Lacrosse Cruises to 10th Win

Brunswick built a 10-0 lead over Everest Academy and finished with a decisive 13-2 non-league win over the Eagles on Friday night on the campus of Union College in Schenectady, N.Y. Twelve different Bruins scored a goal in the non-league win, as the Bruins improve to 10-1.
 
Brunswick, ranked fourth in the latest Under Armour/Inside Lacrosse national poll, dominated possession time in the first quarter, as the Bruins built a commanding 7-0 lead.
 
Liam Fairback finished off a pass from Christian Ronda on a man-up tally at 9:30 to give Brunswick a 1-0 lead. Just 56 seconds later, the duo switched roles to give the Bruins a 2-0 advantage.
 
Coulter Mackesy set-up the next two tallies, including a quick-stick feed for Michael Mauricio’s goal at 7:15. Michael Gottlieb made it a 5-0 contest at 3:26 of the first frame, as defenseman Logan Darrin followed with his first-ever goal at 2:52. Lucas Delgado finished the seven-goal quarter with a score with just under six second remaining.
 
Brunswick starting goalie Christian Barnard played a scoreless first quarter and wasn’t threatened for large blocks of time, as the Bruins maintained possession for close to 10 of the 12 minutes of the frame.
 
Reserve goalie Will Prout played the second and third quarter, as Luke Schlank played the fourth quarter. Each goalie allowed just a single goal. For the game, face-off specialist Blake Burchill won a majority of his face-off attempts.
 
The Bruins added two markers in the second quarter to take a 9-0 lead into the half.
 
Following a goal by Brunswick’s Whit Knight to open the third quarter, the Eagles ended a 26:41 scoring drought with a goal at the 9:19 mark. Knight added his second goal at 2:05, as Keegan Gilsenan notched his first career goal for Brunswick, bumping the Bruins’ lead to 12-1.
 
Everest (1-6) opened the fourth quarter with a goal, as Whit Stahl capped the scoring with his first Brunswick tally for the 13-2 final.
 
The Bruins return to action with a league game at Choate on Wednesday, May 1.
