Baseball Shuts Out Greens Farms

Brunswick scored in five of seven innings en route to a convincing 9-0 road win at Greens Farms. The league win boosts the Bruins record to 5-1 overall and 3-1 in FAA action. 
 
An RBI single by Jack Griffin and an RBI triple by Leo Socci gave the Bruins a 2-0 lead after one inning.
 
Jack Hyde padded the Brunswick lead in the third inning with a two-run single, as Luke Fisher later drove in Hyde on a ground-out to give the Bruins a 5-0 advantage.
 
Following an RBI groundout by Griffin in the fourth inning, the Bruins added two more runs in the top of the fifth. Following a one-out RBI single by Marc McGuire, Josh Feldman drove in a run with a double to right field to give the visitors an 8-0 lead.
 
A run-scoring sacrifice fly off the bat of Hyde in the sixth inning capped the scoring.
 
Socci (2-0) picked up the win, as the hurler tossed five scoreless innings, scattering five hits and striking out a career-best 11 batters. Joseph Henry pitched the final two innings in relief, collecting four punch-outs to complete the shutout win.
 
The Bruins collected 13 hits on the day, as Hyde led the squad with three singles (3-for-3) and three RBI. Feldman finished with two doubles and an RBI, as McGuire and Griffin each chipped in with a pair of singles. Socci added two hits, including an RBI triple, while Aidan Redahan and Danny Lauter each had a single.
