'Wick Math Teams Shine at Opening Match

Brunswick participated in the opening match of the Fairfield County Math League season on Wednesday, placing first among 27 public and private schools.

Brunswick’s A-Team scored 88 points to secure the top spot, while Greenwich High School was second with 67.

“The most remarkable thing is that our B1-Team earned a score of 74,” said coach Michael Allwood. “We don't have a record of the performance of other schools' B-Teams, but this is very likely the first time that a B-Team would have won the league if it replaced its fellow A-Team.”

Additionally, A-Team members Subir Garg ’25 and Vikram Sarkar ’26 earned perfect scores of 18/18. (Just three students in the entire league of A-Teams earned 18s in the match.)

A-Team:

  • Ryan Ahn ’25
  • Subir Garg ’25
  • Jeremy Lee ’25
  • Vikram Sarkar ’26
  • Jack Whitney-Epstein ’26
  • Magne Sogaard-Srikrishnan ’27

B1-Team:

  • Max Lanson ’26
  • Sohan Javeri ’28
  • Arjun Leih ’28
  • Ashwin Siva ’28
