Two Seniors Earn National Merit Scholarships

Two Brunswick seniors, Pierce Crosby and Max Lanson, have been named recipients of National Merit Scholarships as part of the 2026 National Merit Scholarship Competition.

Among the more than 1.3 million students who entered the competition nationwide, only approximately 16,000 students were named Semifinalists. From that group, more than 15,000 advanced to Finalist standing by meeting rigorous academic and application requirements, including a strong academic record and a detailed scholarship application.

Crosby, who will attend Princeton University; and Lanson, who will attend University of Pennsylvania, were selected from this distinguished group of Finalists to receive National Merit Scholarships, an honor awarded to roughly 6,930 students nationwide. The prestigious recognition highlights both students’ exceptional academic achievement, intellectual curiosity, and commitment to excellence throughout their time at Brunswick.
