Football Student-Athletes Named Academic All-Americans

Brunswick proudly announced that eight of its football student-athletes have been named to the 2024 High School Football America Connecticut Academic All-America Team. 

This achievement marks the highest representation from any school in the state, underscoring Brunswick's commitment to excellence both on the field and in the classroom.

The honored Brunswick athletes are:

  • Ethan Long (Defensive Back, Class of 2025) 

  • Henry Johnson (Linebacker, Class of 2025)

  • Jake Greene (Linebacker, Class of 2026)

  • Sam Barsanti (Offensive Lineman, Class of 2025)

  • Travis Wilson (Defensive Back, Class of 2026)

  • Will Fels (Wide Receiver, Class of 2025)

  • Noah Park (Wide Receiver, Class of 2027)

  • Blake Hebert (Quarterback, Class of 2025)

To earn this prestigious recognition from High School Football America (HSFA), each student-athlete must maintain a GPA of 3.7 or higher while making a meaningful impact on the varsity football team throughout the season.

"This honor underscores Brunswick’s commitment to developing well-rounded students, where academic excellence and athletic achievement go hand in hand," said Head Coach Wayne McGillicuddy. 

This distinction adds to an impressive list of recent accolades for Brunswick football. Quarterback Blake Hebert was named the 2024-25 Gatorade Connecticut Football Player of the Year and the NEPSAC Class A Player of the Year, while teammate Matty Augustine earned honors as the NEPSAC Class A Lineman of the Year.
