Brunswick hit the water with a competitive swimming and diving team for the first time in 2012-13 and realized its potential with the completion of the Mehra Natatorium and putting a swim team on campus in 2014. Since then, Head Coach Aaron Montgomery has built the program into a consistent contender at the Division I New England Championships (NEPSAC), posting four third-place finishes in 2017, 2018, 2023, and 2025 and three second-place finishes in 2019, 2020, and 2022. The program has been ranked the best in Connecticut for the past eight years, and the team had 10 swimmers achieve All-NEPSAC and All-FAA status in 2025.

The Bruins continue to make waves nationally, earning recognition from the National Interscholastic Swim Coaches Association (NISCA). The 2025 Bruins were 10th in National Dual Meet Independent School scoring in the country according to NISCA. Four Bruins achieved All-American status in the most recent campaign, and another four achieved Academic All-American status. Heading into its 12th year, the program proudly celebrates 22 All-Americans and their 61 All-American swims, as well as 37 Academic All-Americans.  

Brunswick also competes in the FAA and has won seven FAA Championships including an active winning streak of six championships in a row. The team also participates in national events such as the Eastern Interscholastic Championships (formally prep school nationals) and competes against some of the best swim programs in the country. The Bruins placed fourth at the 2025 Eastern Interscholastic Championship. The program has finished in the top six for the past eight years, but 2025 was only the second time in program history the Bruins placed in the top four. This level of competition pushes the Bruins to consistently challenge themselves to be relevant locally and nationally.
