Wrestlers Take Second Place at Hamden Hall Invitational

While the Varsity "A" team won 60-20 over Trinity-Pawling, 13 Brunswick wrestlers entered the inaugural Hamden Hall Invitational Tournament on Saturday, when the Bruins had a second place finish among nine total teams.

Senior Quinn McGraw won the 150 lb. bracket with a come-from-behind win over a wrestler who had beaten him by a point in December. Classmate Travis Wilson also made the finals, but fell to the #1 seed at 175 lb.

Lucas Batres and Topher Martinelli battled through their consolation brackets to take 3rd place at 126 and 165 lb., respectively, while Sebi Lopez and John Popescu took 4th at 132 lb. and 157 lb.

Nick Bonadio and Marco Gabelli both went 2-2 on the day, while Henry Hernandez and Tripp Paniwozik each earned a win.
