Wrestlers Capture 50th Annual Brunswick Invitational Tournament

Brunswick's wrestling team won the title at the 50th Annual Brunswick Invitational Tournament (B.I.T.). The win was Brunswick's 24th B.I.T. team title with the first coming in 1984 and the most recent in 2023.

Nineteen Brunswick wrestlers placed in the top six at their respective weight classes, and it was the Bruins' team depth that earned them the trophy. Junior co-captain Jack Degl is also now a four-time B.I.T. placewinner, first taking 5th, then 3rd, then 2nd, and then 1st place this year.

Junior Michael Marini broke through with a win this year at heavyweight after taking 3rd place the past two years. After a key 10-4 win in the quarterfinals over his opponent from The Episcopal Academy (PA), Marini went on to pin his way to victory in the semis and finals.

Middle Schooler Jamie Cook stepped into his first varsity tournament at 99 lb. and won the four-wrestler "round robin" at the tournament's lightest weight.

Harned, a junior and now three-time B.I.T. placewinner and former champion, earned his place in another B.I.T. final. Greene, Phelps, and McGraw -- all juniors -- are now also three-time B.I.T. placewinners, while senior co-captain Christian Yanoti goes out as a four-time B.I.T. placewinner.
