'Wick Tops GCDS, Captures FAA League Title

Brunswick defeated Greenwich Country Day School, 5–2, on a sunny afternoon at Edwards Campus, clinching the FAA League Championship in a dramatic, high-stakes match.

Facing the defending champions, the Bruins needed at least a 5–2 victory to secure the title — and delivered in a tightly contested battle that saw all seven matches on court at once.

Vlad Dombrovskyi set the tone at No. 1 singles, bouncing back after dropping the second set to win a super tiebreaker and give Brunswick an early point. After a loss at No. 4 singles evened the score, the Bruins surged ahead behind a pivotal win from Tyler Burke and Yates Brunt at No. 1 doubles, who rallied from a first-set deficit to take their match in a super tiebreak.

Momentum continued to build as Neel Behringer and Colin Officer secured a straight-set win at No. 3 doubles, followed by Miles Gillott and Axel Feist closing out their match at No. 2 doubles to give Brunswick a 4–1 lead.

With the match clinched but the title still on the line, all eyes turned to No. 3 singles. In a dramatic finish, Jamie McCutcheon fought off multiple match points in a super tiebreaker, rallying from a 5–9 deficit to win 11–9 and secure the fifth and decisive point for Brunswick.

Sebastien Moulle-Berteaux battled in a final super tiebreak at No. 2 singles, but the outcome had already been decided as the Bruins sealed the 5–2 victory — and the FAA League title.
