'Wick Captures Third Consecutive FAA Championship

Brunswick secured the team title at the FAA Cross Country Championships on Monday with 42 points, narrowly edging Masters in a thrilling and tightly contested race. Nathan Lee claimed his third individual title with a time of 15:50.9, followed closely by teammate Teddy Hojlo in second (15:51.1), while Armaan Lakhani rounded out a historic sweep of the top three for the Bruins.

Lee and Hojlo set the pace from the start, blazing down the first mile in just five minutes and breaking away from the field. Behind them, a pack of five runners battled for position over the second mile and into the final uphill 300 meters, with Lakhani using his closing speed to secure third overall by less than a second. The narrow point margin reflected just how tight the competition was, with the front-running strength of Brunswick proving decisive over Masters’ fourth, sixth, eighth, and 11th-place finishes.

Shep McGovern and Arjun Kolluri ran strong races, finishing 16th and 20th, earning Second Team All-League honors and helping secure the team victory. Freshmen Graeme Morley and Sawyer White completed the lineup, delivering inspired efforts near their season bests despite sub-optimal health.

The team victory marked Brunswick’s third consecutive FAA Championship, and Nathan Lee’s fifth year as First Team All-League with his third individual title. Hojlo earned runner-up for the third year in a row and his third First Team honor, while Lakhani achieved First Team recognition for the first time after two Second Team awards.

FAA leadership recognized Lee during the post-race ceremony, and the crowd erupted with cheers from teammates, coaches, and competitors alike.
