Soccer Team Earns First Win of Young Season

Brunswick traveled to Albany, New York, on Saturday for a neutral-site matchup with Deerfield Academy, earning a hard-fought 2-1 victory and securing the program’s first win of the season.

Brunswick established a physical presence from the opening whistle, competing for every 50-50 ball while defending Deerfield’s attack effectively. The defensive effort limited Deerfield’s quality chances throughout the opening 30 minutes and eventually helped create Brunswick’s first goal, with Blake Levy finding the back of the net on an assist from Keane Zorub.

Deerfield found an equalizer late in the second half, but Brunswick responded with continued pressure and composure. Ian Warren then restored the lead, scoring on another assist from Zorub.

Senior captains and center backs Ray Foley and Justo Iraola provided leadership and stability throughout the match, while junior central midfielders Colin Dean and Rehaan Bhaskar turned in strong performances. All four players played the full 90 minutes.

The victory marked Brunswick’s first win over Deerfield in approximately six years and provided a strong early-season result for a team that continues to improve.
