Ski Team Wins CISL Race at Mount Southington
Brunswick won the third race of the CISL season (the team did not ski in the second race last week due to exams) at Mount Southington on Thursday evening.
Once again, the team only had the minimum number of athletes, but the six boys came together to win by 6.5 seconds on a combined basis.
"Tonight’s performance by the team might be one of the strongest the ski team has ever scored, despite missing injured senior co-captain Ollie Leonard, who would have surely been in the mix at the top had he raced," said Head Coach Brian Shipman.
The Bruins were led by freshman Jake Leonard and senior Patch Leonard, who both made the podium earning second and third places, respectively.
Sophomore Teddy Hojlo gave the team its third top-10 position by coming in seventh place.
Strong performances were also turned in by senior Ryan Warner in 14th, sixth grader Josh Leonard in 18th, and junior Aidan Robison in 34th.
