Jackson Shaw ’28 has spent much of his summer preparing for and representing the United States on the USA Water Polo U18 Men’s National Team against the world's best youth water polo players. 

After months of preparation in California and international competition, Shaw helped Team USA advance to the World Aquatics U18 Water Polo World Championship Final and earn the program's first-ever silver medal in Rio Maior, Portugal.

Although Team USA ultimately fell to Croatia in a 21-20 penalty shootout, the silver medal stands as the highest finish in United States history at the U18 World Championships, capping a remarkable summer for both the national program and one of Brunswick's rising stars.

Shaw played an integral role throughout the tournament, winning key swim-offs to secure possessions while contributing offensively at every stage of the competition. He scored in four consecutive matches, including three goals and four assists in the championship game.

Shaw's summer continues Brunswick’s growing tradition of producing student-athletes capable of competing on the international stage. He follows in the footsteps of Ryan Ohl ’24, who continues to compete with the USA Men's Senior National Team alongside Olympians after completing another successful season at Stanford University. Ohl represented the United States on the Men’s Senior National Team against China, Montenegro, and Italy while continuing to establish himself as one of the nation's top young players. 

Together, Shaw and Ohl exemplify Brunswick's growing presence within the USA Water Polo pipeline.
