Bruins Rally Past Salisbury in OT Thriller

Brunswick defeated Salisbury School, 11–10, in overtime on Friday night in northwestern Connecticut, earning its latest one-goal victory in a hard-fought matchup between two top programs.

The top-ranked Bruins fell behind early as Salisbury controlled possession and built a 4–1 first-quarter lead. Hunter Hanford scored Brunswick’s opening goal and helped spark momentum heading into the second quarter.

The Bruins chipped away in the second behind goals from Lucas Garcia, Charlie Hausmann, and Austin Tuttle, cutting the deficit to 6–4 at halftime.

The third quarter turned into a back-and-forth battle, with Salisbury twice building four-goal leads before Brunswick responded again. Sean Ryan, Tuttle, and Hanford each scored key goals to keep the Bruins within striking distance.

Brunswick’s defense took over in the fourth quarter, led by Ryan Baxter, Timmy Hall, and goalkeeper Will Connell, who made several key saves to keep Salisbury scoreless for the remainder of regulation. Garcia scored on a man-up opportunity before Hanford tied the game at 10–10 late in the fourth.

In overtime, the Bruins completed the comeback when Garcia scored the game-winner, giving Brunswick its first lead of the night and sealing the 11–10 victory.

Brunswick returns to action Tuesday on the road against Seton Hall Preparatory School.
