Bruins Outlast Suffield on Cosby Field

The Bruins hosted the Suffield Academy Tigers Saturday night on Cosby Field for their home opener and gave their faithful crowd something to celebrate with a 56-49 win.

Brunswick erupted from the first play tonight when Noah Park returned the opening kick off into Suffield territory, and then promptly scored the first touchdown of the game one play later on the Bruins' first offensive play of the night. He would go on to score twice more before time expired in the first quarter as Brunswick led 28-7 after the first 12 minutes.

The Bruins continued their offensive prowess and quick scoring in the second quarter, building their lead to 42-14 thanks to their committee of running backs. It was all Brunswick the entire half.

Brunswick and Suffield traded scores in the third quarter, keeping the difference in scores the same, but things began to slip from there. A fourth quarter rally from Suffield chipped away heavily at the large Bruins lead, and it was 56-49 as time expired on Cosby Field.

Belmont Hill visits Cosby Field for the first time ever next Saturday for a 3 p.m. kickoff.
